Top announcements from AWS Summit New York 2026

Today at the AWS Summit in New York City, Swami Sivasubramanian, AWS VP of Agentic AI, provided the keynote. Major announcements include new capabilities on Amazon Bedrock AgentCore that connect AI agents to organizational, web, and paid knowledge, enabling teams to find and fix production issues and enforce scalable controls. Amazon Bedrock Managed Knowledge Base supports enterprise RAG pipelines with native data connectors and Smart Parsing. Web Search on Amazon Bedrock AgentCore allows agents to ground responses in current web knowledge securely. AWS WAF now includes AI traffic monetization to charge AI bots for content access. Amazon Bedrock AgentCore harness is generally available, enabling rapid production-grade AI agent deployment without coding orchestration loops. AWS Context, coming soon, maps data relationships into knowledge graphs for agentic search. Security updates feature AWS Continuum for automated vulnerability prioritization and fixes, and AWS Security Agent enhancements with threat modeling and IDE integrations. For building agents, Kiro launched a native iOS app in gated preview, AWS DevOps Agent added release management capabilities, and AWS Transform preview offers autonomous tech debt reduction. Amazon Quick launched autonomous agents and a new activity feed consolidating email, messaging, calendar, and tasks. Additional launches include Amazon S3 annotations for attaching rich, queryable context to objects, Amazon ECS faster service auto scaling with high-resolution metrics, Amazon EC2 G7 instances accelerated by NVIDIA RTX PRO 4500 Blackwell Server Edition GPUs, and new open source features from Strands Agents including better context management, isolated execution, and chaos testing. These updates reflect AWS’s strong focus on AI, security, cloud infrastructure, hardware acceleration, and developer productivity tools.
